At little while back we got our first glimpse at The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones mobile game that is created by PlayFirst.

After speaking to PlayFirst via twitter, they confirmed that they released it in a few smaller markets to BETA test it before releasing it to the rest of the world and we have now been given the date of the release to be the 15th August 2013.

Los Angeles Times confirmed that the date for the release, and I expect they are talking about this release date for the US market, however I feel quite confident that this date will be the same for the UK market.

“The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” mobile game, which will be free for iOS and Android on the App Store and Google Play, lets gamers immerse themselves in Clare’s world, filled with vampires, werewolves, warlocks and, of course, Shadowhunters. In the action role-playing game, players must battle demons to save New York City. Gamers play as Shadowhunters, with customizable fighting styles, abilities and appearances, leveling up to unlock attacks and Runes, which grant magical abilities such as healing and invisibility.

The game also boasts cross-platform functionality, allowing users to sign in on Facebook and seamlessly save their progress across Android and iOS devices.

So who’s excited about getting their hands on this game? I sure am. I’ve been checking my phone every day since we found out it had been released in other countries just to see if it had been released in UK yet. So I am very glad we have an actual date to work towards, and it’s just around the corner!
