Everyone’s favourite vampire will be taking centre stage in a brand new and “super secret” short story collection written by Cassandra Clare.

Cassie revealed the news at her 2nd stop on her UK Tour of City of Heavenly Fire in Newcastle.

How amazing is this everyone?

I LOVE SIMON!!! He is my favourite character from The Mortal Instruments series and I cannot wait to read these. I expect they MAY be published similar to The Bane Chronicles, via eBooks first and then later all published in one book. But Cassie may be doing something completely different.

I’m quite surprised about this news purely because the reason the TMI series turned from a trilogy into a 6 book series was because Cassie originally only wanted to write the first 3 books and then write a spin off series just about Simon. But after working on a plan for the story she realised that the story about the rest of the characters was not complete, therefore leading us into another 3 books to make the 6 book series.

So for Cassie to now turn around and say she STILL wants to write more about Simon was shocking, but amazing.

No news on when these will be released, but she has a VERY busy few years ahead of her with the Magisterium series first book ‘The Iron Trials’ being published later this year, along with The Dark Artifices, The Last Hours, The Wicked Powers and The Secret Treasons all planned to be published in the next few years.

We’ll keep you updated with any news we find out 🙂
